The IT industry is known for having an abnormal amount of acronyms, and this is also the case in the realm of cybersecurity. We figured we would put together a quick guide of the acronyms you may see or hear to help translate some of the tech-talk. Note, it’s impossible for us to capture ALL of them, but here’s some of the most common IT security acronyms you will encounter in the context of cybersecurity:

**AI**

Artificial Intelligence

 

**AM**

Antimalware is a term used for software specifically designed to combat malware

 

**AV**

Antivirus, probably most of the most common cybersecurity terms used

 

**DKIM**

DomainKeys Identified Mail, used as part of email security

 

**DMARC**

Domain-based Message Authentication

 

**EPP**

Endpoint Protection Platform
